WHO: This program is open to everyone ages 18+ of all backgrounds and skill levels. You do not need to have any prior skating experience to join. While Tri City is technically a "women's" league, as we are a member of the "WFTDA: Women's Flat Track Derby Association", we happily welcome all athletes who most closely identify with women's roller derby regardless of their gender identity!

WHEN: Wednesday nights from 7:00pm-9:00pm. For 10 weeks starting on Thursday May 21st running every Thursday until Thursday July 30th

WHERE: Don McLaren Arena, 61 Green St, Kitchener, ON, N2G 4K9

COST: Pricing will be $10/week for a total of $100 (+service fees) for the whole session, to be paid upfront with your registration. There are no discounts or refunds for days that you do not/can not attend. In addition to your registration fee, you will be required to purchase roller derby insurance from WFTDI Canada for the price of $50 which covers you for 1 year from the day you purchase it. This insurance is required of all roller derby athletes that play within the WFTDA at all times, you will not be allowed to start skating without it.

GEAR: Tri City is a full contact roller derby league that skates under the WFTDA Ruleset. To help protect your body while playing this highly physical game, there are some mandatory safety equipment requirements that you will need in order to join our Foundations program.

These include:

- Quad roller skates* (no inline skates. Flat (ie. not high-heeled) derby-style skates are recommended but you can do this program on recreational/heeled skates if you choose - if you stick with the sport you WILL eventually need to invest in derby skates.)

- Helmet (skateboard or hockey style. No bicycle helmets.)

- Wrist guards

- Knee pads

- Elbow pads

- Mouth guard (most roller derby athletes wear the Sisu brand, they are very thin and comfortable.)

Wear comfortable, athletic clothing & bring running shoes and a water bottle!
